Swim Team
SIERRA HILLS will no longer offer the swim team program.
The history of the Sierra Hills Swim Team was a non-competitive team that usually consisting of about 50-75 children ranging in ages under 5 to 16 years old. It was for Sierra Hills Club members only. The practices were Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 12:15 p.m. There were four swim meets for the children to swim against each other and try to beat their own previous times. We hosted a coaches picnic to kick off the swim team season, and the end of year swim team banquet. Our main objective was to teach the children how to do the four basic strokes: freestyle, breaststroke, back stroke, and butterfly stroke. Each race the child swam in, they were awarded with a ribbon, no matter what place they had come in. At the end of the season there was the swim team banquet. At the banquet the kids were given their team pictures, trophies, and ribbons from the last meet. Due to the high costs to operate the program, and lack of volunteers to help run the meets, we are not able to offer the swim team program.
